Day 01 : Delhi
Arrive in Delhi. Transfered to Hotel. Take meal of your choice and relax in hotel. In the evening proceed to explore Delhi on your own.Delhi-Cosmopolitan city and capital of India-is the gateway to explore colorful diversity of India. you have lots of options to visit like Red Fort, Jama Masjid, India Gate, Lotus Temple, Akshardham Temple, Humayun Tomb, Qutub Minar etc.Take rest all over night in hotel.
Day 02 : Delhi / Bagdogra (By Flight) – Darjeeling (By Car)
Get ready for a charming journey to Bagdogra by flight (2 hrs) and then proceed to Darjeeling by car (4-5 hrs). Darjeeling (2134 M/110 kms) route winds its way through tea estates where you will see women plucking leaves from tea plants. A narrow gauge railway line of Darjeeling Toy Train runs crisscrossing the road, which gives amazing experience to travellers.The Darjeeling Toy Train is the most exciting and nostalgic form of transportation and was inaugurated in 1881. It was declared a World’s heritage by UNESCO and it is the world’s highest railway track. Darjeeling is called the jewel in the crown.check into hotel for overnight stay.
Day 03 : Sightseeing of Darjeeling
Early in the morning, before breakfast, your guide will be in the hotel to take you to Tiger Hill to view the beautiful sunrise and also get the best view of the world’s third highest mountain Kanchenjunga. On the way back, visit sacred Ghoom Monastery housing the Maitreya Buddha image. Breakfast at the hotel is followed by full day local sightseeing. Visit other famous and beautiful places like Botanical Gardens, Observatory Hill, Mountaineering institute to know the history and observe the equipment used in the first conquest of Mt. Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norge. Also visit Zoological Park to see the Siberian Tigers, Llamas, Himalayan Black Bear and Panda which are rare species to see. In the evening, visit Tibetan Refugee self-help centre for woolen carpet and leather.
Day 04 : Darjeeling – Yuksom (Jeep/Car)
Morning after an early breakfast our representative will drive you to Yuksum (1780 M) by covering approx. 123 kms in 7 hrs.Yuksom is the oldest capital of Sikkim where the first king was consecrated at 1642 A.D.Check in to hotel and have dinner.
Day 05 : Yuksom – Bakhim (Trek)
Leave bed early in the morning and have your breakfast. Now it is turn to face real adventure in your life and start the first leg of trekking to reach Bakhim (3035 m) by covering approx. 13 kms in 4 hrs. The track is a gradual ascent and descent through the dense verdant semi-tropical forest following the Pairag Chu.Spend your night in trekkers hut / camp arranged by Garhwal Himalayan Expedition.
Day 06 : Bakhim – Dzongri (Trek)
Start trekking from the very morning to reach Dzongri (4030 m) along a well marked track by covering approx. 12 kms in 4 hrs. Initially the track climbs steeply but as the track is through fascinating Rhododendron bushes, one may not feel the climb. Reach Dzongri Top, and you will be stunned to see panoramic sight of Kabru, Rantong, Kangchendzonga, Koktang, Padim and Narsing. If you will notice in the west then you will find the Singaliala Ridge, which separates Sikkim from Nepal. Packed lunch will be served in the afternoon. Thereafter, walk up to the Dzongri meadows to reach Dablakhang.The Dzongri meadow is a popular yak grazing ground where large numbers of yaks can be seen grazing on the lush turf.Night stay in trekkers hut/ camp will be provided. Dinner will be arranged for you by our cook at the same spot.
Day 07 : Dzongri
This is the whole day to spend in leisure. Visit and explore famous places of Dzongri by yourself.Dzongri – Dzongri is among the best trekking destinations not only in Sikkim but also in India. Snowfall is common around Dzongri that is why trekkers should be well prepared to face the cold. Even experienced persons and guides get tired after reaching Dzongri because this trek is among the tougher ones in Sikkim.
Day 08 : Dzongri – Thangsing (Trek)
Morning after breakfast, step out to start trekking to reach Thangsing (3800 m) by covering approx. 8 kms in 3 hrs. This trek climbs up to east along the right bank of the river. Path drops into the valley and then crosses a bridge over the Prek Chu river. You will see this trail, full of dwarf rhododendron blossoms during late May and June. Thansing is located below the slopes of Mt Pandim.Night stay in camps near the Prek Chu river.
Day 09 : Thangsing – Simiti Lake (Trek)
Start early after breakfast from Thangsing so that you can catch the views before the clouds rush in. Trek to Simiti (4200 m) by covering 8 kms that takes approx. 3 hrs.Simiti – Smiti is located on a high altitude housing fresh water lakes and is nestled in the lap of mighty Himalayan ranges. Samiti lake is considered a very sacred lake. It is usually very cold at the Trekkers Hut in Simiti and afternoon snowfall is a regular feature here, especially in the spring.Arrive and camp by the side of the lakeDay 10 : Simiti Lake – Gochala – Thangsing (Trek) Morning after breakfast, start trekking to reach Gochala (5000 m) by covering approx. 14 kms in 5 hrs. From the pass, one can see the lofty and majestic Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt. Kabru and Kabru Dome etc. Gochala trek starts with a gentle slope that continues for about half an hour and then, the real climbing begins. This pass is formed by an abjection between Pandim and the Kabru spurs. It overlooks the Talung valley and commands a very impressive view. Return back to Thansing, which will take you 2-3 hrs. One usually reaches here by late afternoon with enough time to set up camp.Nightstay in Thansing.
Day 11 : Thangsing – Tsoka (Trek)
After breakfast, start trekking early in the morning to reach Tsoka (3710 m) in about 5 – 6 hrs. The trek winds its way down upto Phedong, the start of the Rhododendron trail. We provide well trained guide to bring you back through the safest route, as the conditions of trail keep changing according to the month, snowfall, rain and landslides.After reaching Tsoka, stay in trekkers hut / tents.
Day 12 : Tsoka – Yuksom (Trek)
Get up early in the morning and take breakfast to start trekking to reach Yuksom by covering approx. 5 kms in 2 hrs. The going is easier as the path is mainly downhill. After reaching, rest of the day is free to explore the surrounding area on your own.Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 13 : Yuksom – Pemayangtse – Gangtok (Jeep)
After breakfast in the morning, drive to Pemayangste (2085 m) by covering approx. 30 kms in 1 hr. Pemayangtse is one of the oldest and important monasteries in Sikkim. Visit the monastery, proceed to reach Gangtok (1810 m) by covering approx. 110 kms in 5 hrs.Arrive Gangtok and check into hotel for overnight stay.
Day 14 : Gangtok – Kalimpong (Jeep/Car)
Morning after breakfast, leave hotel for excursion to Rumtek monastery, enroute visit the Institute of Tibetology. Proceed to Kalimpong and take a short visit of this place.Kalimpong – Kalimpong is a small hill station between Siliguri and Gangtok. It is culturally and ethnically similar to Darjeeling. The road to Kalimpong is one of the most scenic routes in this part of the nation. If you are fond of attending fairs then Kalimpong offers Kalimpong Mela in December and the Pedong Agricultural Mela in February. Kalimpong has several old and famous monasteries as well as a famous Kali temple.
Stay in hotel and take rest.
Day 15 : Kalimpong – Bagdogra(car) / Delhi (Train/Flight)
Early morning, take your meal and transfer to Bagdogra airport in time to board flight for Delhi. Arrive in Delhi where you will meet our representative who will transfer you to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 16 : Delhi / Onward destination
If, on your first day, you could not find enough time to explore the attractions of Delhi, now you have a full day for sight-seeing tour of Old and New Delhi. Thereafter, await transfer to international airport for flight to onward destination.
